It’s almost time for the release of Dhadak, this year’s most awaited movie. This movie has been in the limelight ever since its announcement on Twitter by Karan Johar in November last year. It became the hot topic of the town post the tragic demise of veteran actor Sridevi Kapoor whose daughter, Janhvi Kapoor is making her debut with Dhadak. Sridevi was all pumped up for this movie and was promoting it with full swing on her social media handles. While her sudden demise had left her fans in shock, all her fans have now turned to Janhvi and are commending her for being strong and carrying on with the show in such times. Apart from Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar is also making his debut with this movie.
Primarily circling around the inter-caste relationships, this movie is a remake of critically acclaimed Marathi movie – Sairat. It would be interesting to see how the new faces and Karan Johar himself would bring a new element to a done to death story line.
First thoughts after the trailer
In the first glance, Dhadak appears to be a typical Bollywood masala flick that involves romance, comedy, and violence. Jahnvi Kappor’s dialect is another turn off. Though, both the stars had learned Mewari for the film, the accent lacks the natural element, and hence the essence.
But, having said that, the pairing is fresh and promising. Jahnvi Kapoor is looking her elegant best with colorful and flowy lehengas and Ishaan Khattar’s rough looks are impressive. Their chemistry is winning hearts all over the internet and the couple is a treat for eyes.
The hopes are high for both of them since both Janhvi’s mother, Late Sridevi Kapoor and Ishaan’s brother, Shahid Kapoor have proved their metal in the industry.
The film was screened specially for select B-town stars who were all smitten away by Janhvi and Ishaan’s performance in Dhadak.
As the audience eagerly wait for the release of Dhadak, the movie is set to release on July 20, 2018.
